A GRIP OF GIST
Maricon G. Gonzales
They are becoming inevitable, rampant, and too strong to be suppressed! These things suitably describe how I view and see the influx of bullies nowadays. Bullies are like viruses- spreading, infecting, and detrimentally making every vulnerable individual into a dreadful fate.
Whether we like it or not, bullying is present everywhere; it may occur in schools, one’s working place, places where we usually eat, places we constantly hang out, and even on the web: facebook, twitter, instagram, and other social networking sites. It cannot be stopped nor controlled. As long as there are persons who love to mistreat, put down and intimidate others- bullying will happen again and again. Endless! Unstoppable!
So upon hearing this government’s anti-bullying act of 2012, I grasped and gripped these thoughts in my head: concern, respect, love, and equality.
Basing from the contents and coverage of this act, I was so much amazed that at last our government had proposed a bill so worthy to be passed as a law (act).
I certainly agree that this law is necessary in our country today in order to promote harmony and equality for citizens of this nation. I can observe in today’s time that everyone is too prone to commit such violation that even I...... can’t deny the fact that at some instances in my life I became such a bully to some of my friends.
What’s with bullying that it became one of the major triggering and intriguing issues in today’s time? I think it is the fact that this violation happens to every single individual- whatever affiliation, status and age you are, and whether you are just an ordinary person or a celebrity you can be a victim of this.
Having read all the Sections of Anti-bullying Act of 2012, I don’t see any flaws regarding its contents. I find it necessary and beneficial to everyone for I view this act as a way to promote harmonious relationship and a way to hone someone’s value of respect to his fellowmen.
The adoption of the Anti-bullying policies to institutions is a great move of the government to lessen misunderstanding among individuals. So having this act imposed to those bullies, I felt like it was one of the best actions that our government had ever done amid all struggles and issues we face through.
Limiting bullying incidents in schools, working place, and the World Wide Web would result to non-hiatus and no gap connection to us people. I believe that if we live in harmony as one, no rhythm nor sound can ever destroy the castled and built relationships we shared as special creations.
Anyway, for me... bullying is just a matter of urge and control and this happens because the "urge" dominates compare with the latter. Though it’s wrong to bully someone, why should you keep it doing so? Just because you find the act of it so fun and pleasurable? You’ll repeat it?
If you say life is full of contradictions, why make complications if you can make mindful rhythms?
The decision is yours to decide: to take the urge or to control it?
